Remarks

• Very close to Laevichlamys superficialis (Forsskal, 1775) from the Red Sea but A. ruschenbergerii is generally bigger and often with bore holes near the umbo.
• surface is more rough and dull compared to a smooth surface of Laevichlamys superficialis.
• scales on the ribs are smaller, more equal in size and colour compared to Laevichlamys superficialis which has generally rays of brown scales and 3 or more rays with white scales.
